Facebook Advertising for Local Business

So you’re thinking about advertising on Facebook, but not sure where to start? Check out some of our favorite ways and what ad types we’ve used to generate great results for your local business clients.

Alright, let's jump into it.  Below are the different types of Facebook ads we've seen work well for our local business clients and if executed correctly, they should work well for you too.

1.  Traffic - This is a type of ad that will be shown to customers in your target audience that are most likely to click on your ad and go to another URL, usually your website, but it could also be set-up to go to your Facebook page, YouTube channel, etc.

2.  Reach - These types of our ads are great if you're not trying to "reach" customers multiple times, but instead you want to "reach" as many potential customers as possible at least once.  With this ad type, you can tell Facebook how many customers you want to reach everyday and at what frequency.  For example, you could say that you want to reach 1,000 customers a day and you only want them to see your ad once in every week.  In doing so, you could theoretically reach 1,000 NEW customers each day or 7,000 customers each week.

3.  Engagement - If you're looking to get more likes, shares, and comments on your posts, engagement ads do just that.  It can also be a great way to build up your page likes by taking the customers that "liked" your post and then "inviting" them to like your page, which Facebook allows you to do with one click of a button.

4.  Messaging - Want to get your customers talking with you?  Messaging ads are built for just that.  In these ads, a "Send Message" button will be displayed on your ad and it makes it extremely simple for customers to click and start a conversation with you.  When you do this, it would also be a best practice to set-up your messenger bot, so that it automatically greets your potential customer.

5.  Lead Ads - If your business sales cycle is driven by "leads" - aka insurance, real estate, construction, or any other business where you need new customers everyday, but don't exactly have them walking through your doors on a daily basis, then lead ads are great for growing your business.  Lead ads allow you to have customers opt-in for what you have to offer by submitting their information directly on Facebook.  Once more, Facebook will actually pre-populate the lead form for them, making it even easier.  Then you are sent those leads on a daily basis to follow up on.
